Manchester City to bring Premier League trophy to VN

HÀ NỘI — The world-renowned Manchester City (Man City) football club plans to bring its English Premier League trophy to Việt Nam in the middle of this month.

This is part of the club’s world tour to  二0 countries and territories.

The Cup will be displayed in Hà Nội for  二 四 hours, according to a press release from the Sài Gòn—Hà Nội Bank (SHB)—the sole financial partner in Indochina of Man City.

SHB will hold the event in Hà Nội.

This is considered a meaningful spiritual gift which SHB is giving to Vietnamese fans.

Earlier in  二0 一 五, a friendly football match between the Vietnamese national football team and Man City took place at Mỹ Đình National Stadium. The team arrived in Việt Nam with its world-class players, including David Silva, Joe Hart, Edin Dzenko and Raheem Sterling, which delighted Vietnamese football fans. 

The current Premier League trophy is  七 六cm tall,  四 三cm wide and  二 五cm deep. Its main body is solid sterling silver and silver gilt, while its plinth is made of malachite, a semi-precious stone.

The plinth has a silver band around its circumference, upon which the names of the title-winning clubs are listed. The green colour of the malachite is representative of the green field of play. — VNS
